On the Day of Prigozhin's Rebellion, the US and Allies Urged Kyiv to Refrain from Hitting Russia
On the day of Prigozhin's rebellion, the United States and Western allies contacted Kyiv and requested to refrain from strikes against Russia. This was reported by CNN.
“The concern was that Ukraine and the West would be seen as aiding Prigozhin and threatening Russia's sovereignty,” said a Western official. According to CNN, “the message was to keep the boat steady here.” The message was conveyed at the level of foreign ministers, lawmakers, and through ambassadors.
Recall that on June 24, the Wagner group initiated a rebellion and entered Rostov-on-Don at night, subsequently moving toward Moscow, but they did not reach the capital.
