VIDEO: New Footage from the National Assembly. The Situation is Tense
A heated exchange occurred in the parliament between Alen Simonyan and Seyran Ohanyan just moments ago. A break was announced. Journalists have released new video footage from the National Assembly.
It is noteworthy that tensions flared in the parliament following remarks made by Arzvik Minasyan, the secretary of the "Armenia" parliamentary group. Minasyan stated that the government is proving that the values it once declared are gradually and grossly being violated. “By breaking and renouncing, you are trampling over everything,” Minasyan said.
Parliamentary President Alen Simonyan reminded that the opposition did not attend the memorial service for their colleague, Vigen Khachatryan. “I leave that on your conscience,” he said.
In response to Minasyan’s comments from his seat, Simonyan said, “Don’t advise me, read my posts, read them every day and be ashamed.” Subsequently, Alen Simonyan responded to the remarks made by the head of the “Armenia” faction, Seyran Ohanyan, from his seat. “You occupy yourself with your own life, your dignity, your actions. You will speak about this during the court session. Addressing me informally is unacceptable.”
