Tbilisi Mayor Calls Opponents of Russian Tourists Hypocrites
The Mayor of Tbilisi and General Secretary of the ruling "Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia" party, Kakha Kaladze, has branded those opposing Russian tourists as hypocrites. This was reported by Sputnik Georgia.
Kaladze cited former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who initially welcomed Russian tourists at the "Upper Lars" checkpoint with flowers, but is now protesting against their arrival.
“Today, these individuals are complaining with angry faces, as if it's unacceptable for a Russian tourist to enter Georgia. This is a double standard,” Kaladze stated.
Previously, Kaladze noted that if Georgia were to impose sanctions against Russia, it would harm its agriculture and those working in the sector. The politician emphasized that it is inappropriate to abandon trade with Russia.
