Over 46 Million Drams for Purchasing Transparency Testing Devices

Starting June 1, patrol officers and traffic police are holding drivers accountable for exceeding the permissible transparency of vehicle side windows, which is set at 70%. The measurement of window tinting is conducted using special devices.

NEWS.am has sent an inquiry to the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to understand the procedure and the specific company from which the transparency testing devices were acquired.

Two tenders have been announced for the purchase of the devices. The first tender was won by "Arminoli" LLC for 19,980,000 drams, and the second by "IMPEX" LLC for 26,400,000 drams.

In response to the inquiry, the police also reported that a total of 343 devices have been acquired, of which 67 are accounted for in the police division of Yerevan, and 120 are deployed in regions served by the patrol police, with 20 devices in each region. Four devices have been transferred to the patrol police administration, and five are experiencing technical issues. The traffic police have been allocated 20 testing devices.

For the purpose of standard checks, it is planned that 127 transparency testing devices will be sent to the "National Body for Standardization and Metrology" LLC in due course.
