Elderly Woman in Ecuador Shows Signs of Life Before Burial
An elderly woman in Ecuador, who was about to be buried by her family, has shown signs of life, reported El Universo newspaper.
“On Friday, a doctor from the Marti Hospital (in Babayo city) handed over the body of Bella to her relatives, who had assumed she was dead,” said the media. Bella lay in a coffin for several hours. When the coffin lid was opened to prepare her body for burial, her son and other relatives discovered that she was alive.
Doctors currently have no explanation for what occurred. It is possible that Bella was in a cataleptic state—a condition that can last several days during which a person remains motionless. She is now at a hospital. Her relatives are discussing the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the hospital.
