Cigarettes in Armenia Should Be Sold in White Boxes, Says Babken Tunyan
"As of January 1, 2024, cigarettes in Armenia should be sold in white boxes with no images on them," stated MP Babken Tunyan during a meeting of the National Assembly's Economic Affairs Committee.
According to him, the Technical Regulations of the EAEU stipulate that cigarettes must be sold with graphic health warnings.
"As harmful as smoking may be, the tobacco industry is a business that is not prohibited by law. What will we do? Will we change the law to comply with the EAEU technical regulations, will we convince the EAEU to change the regulations to match ours, or will we ask them to maintain the same regime for Armenia?"
