A Baku University Lecturer Wears Mkhitaryan's Jersey, Fans Outrage
A man wearing the jersey of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a player for the Arsenal football club, entered one of Baku's football fields, provoking the anger of locals, according to Azerbaijani media reports. The incident occurred yesterday.
It has been revealed that the man is Agalar Karibov, a philosophy professor at several universities in Baku, including the Western Caspian University, Azerbaijan University, and the University of Tourism and Management.
When asked why he wore a jersey with the surname of an Armenian footballer, he responded that he does not consider Armenians to be enemies. Furthermore, he revealed that he also owns a jersey of another Armenian footballer, Edouard Spertsyan of FC Krasnodar.
Azerbaijan's citizens have appealed to the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate whether the lecturer is involved in cooperation with Armenian special services.
