Food Prices in the EU Have Increased by 16%: The Financial Times

In Europe, prices are being set to overcome the sharp increase in food prices. Many retailers are currently forced to sell their products at a loss. Goods in stores are becoming more expensive despite a decrease in energy prices.
The rise in product costs in stores has caused dissatisfaction among the population, noted The Financial Times. It was mentioned that food prices in the EU have increased by 16%, significantly exceeding the overall inflation rate of 8%.
During this period, the price of eggs has increased by about 23%, whole milk by 25%, and sugar by nearly 55%.
