We Reaffirm Our Readiness to Provide Comprehensive Assistance to Yerevan: CSTO
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) reaffirms its readiness to provide possible assistance to Yerevan by sending a CSTO observer mission within the framework of military-technical cooperation. This was announced on Thursday in Minsk during a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council by the organization's Secretary General Imangali Tasmaghambetov, as reported by TASS.
“Again, as stated in the meeting of the Collective Security Council last November, we reaffirm our willingness to provide comprehensive assistance to Yerevan, including sending a CSTO observer mission, as well as through military-technical support, training of border guards, and equipping them with modern technical means,” he said.
Tasmaghambetov noted that the tensions arising from long-standing disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan continue to persist in the South Caucasus, with flare-ups of armed clashes reported. “Of course, we welcome the efforts of the conflicting parties aimed at signing a comprehensive peace agreement,” added the CSTO Secretary General.
