Kiev De-Russifies 26 Objects: Klitschko

The Mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, announced the renaming of 26 objects in the city that previously had names associated with Russia. He shared this news on his Telegram channel.

"The Kiev City Council has de-russified 26 urban objects today," the city's leader stated.

As part of this initiative, the metro station "Druzhby Narodiv" has been renamed to "Zverinetskaya" station, and Leo Tolstoy Square has been renamed to "Square of Ukrainian Heroes," while the station project "Prospekt Pravdy" has been changed to "Varshavskaya" station.

According to Klitschko, several streets and lanes in various neighborhoods of Kiev have also been renamed. In total, 314 urban objects in the capital of Ukraine have received new names.

"The process of de-Russification in Kiev continues," the mayor concluded. Earlier, Klitschko had announced the renaming of 16 place names associated with the Russian Federation.
