Ukrainian Media Reports Explosions in Zaporizhzhia
Ukrainian media reports explosions in the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is under the control of Kyiv, as noted by Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua.
“Reports of explosions in Zaporizhzhia have been noted,” the publication states.
The Zaporizhzhia region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022, the results of which Kyiv does not recognize and continues to shell the area. Currently, over 70% of the Zaporizhzhia region is under Russian control, while the former regional center, the city of Zaporizhzhia, remains under the control of Ukrainian forces. Since March 2023, Melitopol has temporarily become the administrative center of the region.
Russian armed forces have begun attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure since October 10, 2022, two days after a terrorist act on the Crimean Bridge, which, according to Russian authorities, was orchestrated by Ukrainian special services.
