Georgian Airline Cancels Tbilisi-Moscow Flights via Yerevan
Georgian Airways, the airline of Georgia, has canceled Tbilisi-Moscow flights that transit through Yerevan, following the announcement regarding the restoration of direct flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation.
“Yes, we have canceled all transit flights since May 20,” the airline informed TASS on Wednesday.
When asked whether passengers would be refunded for purchased tickets or offered direct flight tickets for the same dates, the airline stated that no decision has been made yet. They noted that the commercial department is addressing the issue of tickets purchased from the Armenian airline 'Air Dilijan' for flights via Yerevan, and passengers will receive information by the end of the day.
At the same time, Georgian Airways assured that flights scheduled to Yerevan before May 20 will be carried out.
Previously, the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency announced that Georgian Airways would start regular flights on the Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi route from May 20, operating seven times a week. Ticket sales for flights to Moscow were opened on the airline's website that evening, while 'Air Dilijan' transit flights through Yerevan, which were previously sold on the Georgian Airways website, have disappeared from sale.
