France Can Accept 6 Armenian Young Footballers Throughout the Year
The 'Sardarapat' football club is implementing a rather ambitious program aimed at promoting the development of young Armenian footballers in collaboration with the French club 'Lens'. This was reported by Sputnik Armenia.
The 'Sardarapat' club promises to provide promising talents that will shine not only in Armenia's top league but also in high-quality European competitions. This was assured by the founding president of the newly established Armenian club, Sevan Karyan, during a press conference, noting that the collaboration with the French 'Lens' club gives 'Sardarapat' excellent development prospects.
Karyan announced that the French side could accept up to six promising young footballers throughout the year, and if their number increases, more young athletes can also be sent.
According to Sevan Karyan, they primarily aim to establish a solid foundation on which a professional club will later be based, featuring trained players ready for fierce football competition.
Eric Asaduryan, a former member of the Armenian national team, director of the 'Lens' academy, and concurrently, technical director of 'Sardarapat', emphasized the methodology for selecting young footballers, stating that an individual approach must be applied to each player. 'At first glance, the teenager may be small or short, may physically lag behind stronger teammates in certain parameters, but may possess specific potential that needs to be revealed and fostered for the further development of that youth. They need to be followed every day, provided with work, and psychological support should also be implemented to drive them towards victories,' said Asaduryan.
The cooperation program between 'Sardarapat' and 'Lens' is long-term in nature. Asaduryan noted that even after returning to France, he would not cease monitoring young footballers. Training sessions and recordings of intensive practices will be sent from Armenia to France, which will also assist in identifying promising youths.
It is worth mentioning that within the framework of the program, two young footballers and two coaches traveled to France last November.
