Court Hearing in the Case of Serzh Sargsyan Postponed
The court hearing in the case of Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, and others has been postponed today at the Avan and Nor Nork court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan, presided over by Judge Vahe Misakyan.
During today’s hearing, the defendant Gevorg Harutyunyan, former head of the Ministry of Agriculture's Plant Production Division, was being interrogated. His questioning has concluded.
It should be noted that the defendant mentioned in court today that he was directed by the former Minister of Agriculture, Sergei Karapetyan, on what kind of testimony to provide during the pre-trial investigation. The prosecutor in the case also requested the court to release the testimonies provided during the pre-trial stage.
The court revealed Harutyunyan's testimonies, after which the defendant insisted on the testimony he provided in court. The defendant stated that the late former Minister of Agriculture, Sergei Karapetyan, had guided him before his pre-trial testimony, and in the next interrogation, he changed his testimony, adding that Deputy Minister Samvel Galstyan had also given a testimony during the first interrogation, which he later changed.
