Putin Comments on Drone Attack on the Kremlin: Andrey Kolesnikov
During a closed meeting with leading media editors, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the drone attack on the Kremlin. This was reported by Andrey Kolesnikov, a correspondent for the newspaper «Коммерсант», referencing sources. According to the journalist, the president spoke about one drone, not two.
Kolesnikov writes that in response to a question about the drone that passed by the dome a few days ago, Putin said that “there is nothing special about this drone,” noting that it is “made of wire and modern materials, and that such homemade flying devices have flown to the Khmeimim base in Syria, so they are familiar, and it contains only 400 grams of TNT.” According to Kolesnikov, Putin did not attribute as much importance to this incident as the world did.
Kolesnikov noted that this time the meeting with the president was brief, after which he proceeded to the parade for a meeting with foreign heads of state invited to Moscow. The journalist stated that the Kremlin was “surprised” that almost all invited guests attended the parade. “And even those who did not plan to come also showed up,” he says.
Kolesnikov also mentioned that this year's security measures for the parade were “unprecedented.” To reach the tribune, it was necessary to go through four levels of checks. It is worth noting that on May 3, two drones struck the Kremlin.
