Toivo Klaar on Mirzoyan-Bayramov Negotiations
The European Union welcomes the ongoing cooperation between Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov over the course of four days. Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, made this announcement on his Twitter account.
“Encouraging news from Washington,” Klaar noted while commenting on the Mirzoyan-Bayramov negotiations held in Washington. He added that progress can only be achieved through dialogue. “We continue to support Armenia and Azerbaijan and work with our partners towards achieving sustainable peace,” Klaar emphasized.
It is noteworthy that on May 1, a bilateral meeting took place in Arlington, USA, between Bayramov and Mirzoyan, and on the same day, a trilateral meeting was held in Washington involving Ararat Mirzoyan, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The negotiations, which lasted several days, concluded on May 4.
