Alen Simonyan Appeals to Russia Over Azerbaijan's Checkpoint Installation in Lachin Corridor
Azgayin Zhoghovurd (Parliament) President Alen Simonyan has made a statement on his Twitter microblog addressing the installation of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan in the Lachin corridor.
“The installation of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan in the Lachin corridor, which is under the responsibility of the peacekeeping mission, is absolutely unacceptable, as it grossly violates point 6 of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. We urge Russia to fulfill its obligations by ensuring the withdrawal of armed forces from the entire security zone of the Lachin corridor. We also call on UN member states, who have a mandate to maintain international security, to take effective steps to implement the decision of the International Court of Justice,” he wrote.
