Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Nagorno-Karabakh Situation with Armenian and Azerbaijani Ambassadors
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has held discussions with Azerbaijani Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu and Armenian Ambassador Vahagn Harutyunyan regarding the developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh situation. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the statement, “The developments in the Lachin corridor and the overall situation around Nagorno-Karabakh have been discussed.”
As per the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website, the importance of strictly adhering to the entire package of agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia during 2020-2022 was reaffirmed.
On April 23, 2023, Azerbaijani border guards established a checkpoint at the beginning of the Lachin corridor, which leads to Stepanakert, along the border with Armenia. The checkpoint is located on a new highway built post the 2020 ceasefire to bypass Lachin, situated 16 kilometers east of the village of Tegh in Armenia's Syunik province, on a bridge over the Hakari River.
A observation post of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is stationed nearby the site.
