Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Pashinyan's Statement
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has responded to the statement made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which claimed that Azerbaijan is responsible for the blocking of the Lachin corridor and the blockade of Artsakh.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry specifically stated, “Contrary to the Prime Minister's assertions, Azerbaijan has jurisdiction and sovereign rights over the Lachin road in accordance with the trilateral statement. Azerbaijan, as always, guarantees the safety of citizens, vehicles, and goods moving through the Lachin-Khankendi (officially known as Stepanakert) route within the framework of its obligations and will continue to take appropriate measures in this regard.”
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has been blocking the Lachin corridor since December 12, refusing to comply with the ruling of the International Court of Justice. Additionally, on April 23, Baku installed an illegal checkpoint in the Lachin corridor.
