Azerbaijani Detainees Have No Complaints of Mistreatment: Ombudsman
Armenian Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan has visited Azerbaijani servicemen who have been detained after the recent incursion into Armenia. Manasyan stated that she discussed the state of their rights and the conditions of their detention. “This information has been conveyed to international partners,” Manasyan noted.
According to the Ombudsman, no complaints have been received regarding mistreatment of Azerbaijani servicemen by state bodies or officials. “I personally familiarized myself with the conditions of their detention—whether they are receiving drinking water, food, and no complaints have been presented in this regard,” she added.
Manasyan explained to the detainees their fundamental rights and the nature of the judicial decisions made regarding them.
