EU Commissioner for Human Rights' Firm Response to Azerbaijani Delegate
During a session at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Samad Seyidov, accused EU Human Rights Commissioner Dunja Mijatović of remaining silent about allegations that an Azerbaijani serviceman was subjected to torture in Armenia, with videos of the incident circulating online.
Dunja Mijatović reminded that such torture had previously been inflicted by Azerbaijan on Armenian servicemen and stated that law enforcement agencies should address these issues. She urged not to politicize the human rights commissioner's work.
