Egypt Abandons Plans to Supply Missiles to Russia
The Washington Post reports that Egypt, under diplomatic pressure from the United States, has abandoned plans to secretly supply missiles to Russia, which has been waging a large-scale war against Ukraine for over a year.
Following negotiations with senior U.S. officials in early March, the authorities in Cairo have suspended the implementation of this plan, according to U.S. intelligence documents cited by the newspaper.
Instead, Egypt has decided to produce 152 mm and 155 mm artillery shells for transfer to Ukraine, which the outlet notes is a clear diplomatic victory for President Joe Biden's administration.
