Netherlands Legalizes Euthanasia for Children Under 12
The Netherlands has legalized euthanasia for children under the age of 12 who are suffering unbearably and have no prospect of recovery, according to De Telegraaf.
Previously, the euthanasia protocol applied only to terminally ill children under one year old. Children aged 12 and older can decide to voluntarily end their lives according to general regulations. However, the age group from 1 to 12 was not included in the laws.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a bill aimed at legalizing access to euthanasia. The publication reminds that France legalized the right of patients to refuse artificial life support in 2005.
It has been reported that in Canada, a sick man was allowed to undergo euthanasia due to poverty; however, he later changed his mind.
