Aram Nikoghosyan, Who Burned the Azerbaijani Flag, Currently at Police Station
Aram Nikoghosyan, the designer who burned the Azerbaijani flag, has been taken to the Malatya division of the police. According to preliminary information, a criminal case has been initiated on charges of hooliganism, reported lawyer Alexander Kochubayev on his Facebook page.
As previously reported, the young man who burned the Azerbaijani flag and was removed from the hall was Aram Nikoghosyan. During the opening ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championship held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex in Yerevan, a parade of flags representing participant countries took place, during which the incident occurred.
When the Azerbaijani team was being introduced, their flag was brought into the hall, which was also displayed on the large screen. As noted, during the introduction of the team, the audience started to boo, after which a young man took the already lowered flag from the stage and set it on fire, then attempted to exit. A security guard managed to detain the individual conducting the act, after which a new flag was brought inside. Armenian fans also booed Turkey.
It is noteworthy that citizens supporting him are gathering near the police station.
