The Consul General of Turkey in Los Angeles, Sinan Kuzuoğlu, has written a letter of protest to the city council of Irvine, California, regarding the construction of a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
According to Ermenihaber.am, he emphasized that after the earthquake in Turkey in February, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited Turkey, and Armenia had sent humanitarian aid to the affected regions of the country, as well as a search and rescue team from Armenia. Kuzuoğlu stated that "it seems that spirit has not reached Irvine or has been deliberately ignored for minor political calculations."
It was noted that the city council of Irvine has not yet responded to the letter.
