‘Those whom Armenia calls prisoners are criminals’: Hajiyev distorts the facts
‘Those whom Armenia calls prisoners are criminals, who were sent to Azerbaijan two weeks after the signing of the trilateral statement. International courts have rejected the measures requested by Armenia for their release.’
This was stated by Ayhan Hajiyev, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, on Twitter. He noted that Armenia has yet to provide information about the 3,800 missing Azerbaijanis.
‘Armenia has subjected about 1 million residents of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ethnic cleansing. This hampers the safe return of refugees and internally displaced persons,’ Hajiyev said.
The representative of the aggressor state's foreign ministry emphasized that Armenia should abandon aggressive rhetoric that is detrimental to efforts to establish peace in the region.
