Tensions Erupt in Naples Ahead of Champions League Match

Disorder broke out in Naples ahead of the Champions League football match between local team Napoli and Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt. Eyewitnesses have shared photographs and videos on social media.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli fans first threw stones at the buses carrying German supporters, then clashed with police attempting to establish order.

Reports indicate that at least two individuals were stabbed and several cars were set ablaze. The match started on time, however, German fans were not allowed to attend.
