Conscription Age to Rise from 21 to 30: Draft Law in Russia
A group of deputies in the State Duma of Russia, led by the chairman of the Defense Committee Andrey Kartapolov, has submitted a draft law proposing to gradually raise the conscription age for military service to 21 years. This was reported by TASS.
The document was uploaded on Monday to the Duma's electronic database.
According to the initiative, the conscription age will be from 19 to 30 years in 2024, from 20 to 30 years in 2025, and from 21 to 30 years in 2026.
At the same time, individuals wishing to serve can enlist starting at age 18, despite the increase in the conscription age.
If the law is adopted, it will come into effect on January 1, 2024.
