Earthquakes up to 7.4 Magnitude Expected in Several Regions of Turkey: Turkish Geologist
Turkish doctor and geologist Naji Giyoru discussed the earthquakes that have occurred in Turkey since February during an appearance on Turkish 'FOX TV'. The information is provided by ermenihaber.
He mentioned that the risk of earthquakes remains very high in several areas of the country. Specifically, earthquakes up to 7.4 magnitude are expected in the Sea of Marmara, the region between Erzincan and Karlovasi, and the Pyulumur area.
The expert stated, 'The fault lies within the North Anatolian fault line. This entire zone, all of Turkey, and even the most active areas of the world are located within this zone, which can trigger large earthquakes.'
Recall that on February 6, two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and the subsequent thousands of aftershocks have, according to recent data, claimed the lives of over 45,000 people.
