Armenian Foreign Ministry Condemns Ceasefire Violation by Azerbaijan

The Armenian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the provocations by the Azerbaijani side, which occurred immediately after the latest meeting between representatives of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.

“On March 2 and the night of March 3, Azerbaijani military units located in the occupied territories of the Askeran, Martakert, and Martuni regions of the Republic of Artsakh violated the ceasefire established by the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. We strongly condemn the provocations by the Azerbaijani side, which took place immediately after the latest meeting between representatives of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Azerbaijan, mediated by the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh.

In the context of the urgent need to lift the illegal blockade of Artsakh, Azerbaijan’s actions clearly indicate a lack of willingness to fulfill its commitments regarding the unblocking of the Lachin corridor, including those stemming from the International Court of Justice’s decision. In this regard, we find it necessary for the international community to continue implementing specific measures of pressure on Azerbaijan to restrain its destructive actions and intentions aimed at resolving issues by force,” the statement reads.
