Blizzard, Fog, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the “Amberd” high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and Kharij Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass (due to blizzard) is closed for trucks and difficult to pass for other types of vehicles. The Alagyaz-Artik road is difficult to pass in the territory of Aragatsotn Province.

In Gegharkunik Province, there are icy spots on the Toros village-Vardaghbyur, Goris-Sisian, and Gndevaz-Jermuk roads. There is fog on the Kajaran-“Meghri Mountain” road.

As for Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
