US Embassy Urges Citizens Not to Travel to Russia
The US Embassy in Moscow has advised American citizens against traveling to Russia due to the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine. This recommendation was announced in a statement published on the diplomatic mission's website, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“Do not travel to Russia due to the unpredictable consequences of Russia’s unprovoked large-scale invasion of Ukraine,” the US Embassy’s statement reads.
The US diplomatic mission also notes that Russian authorities may deny recognition of US citizenship to individuals with dual US-Russian citizenship, restrict their access to US consular assistance, subject them to mobilization, prevent them from leaving Russia, or draft them into military service.
