Samvel Babayan Responds to Reports of His Appointment as State Minister
Recently, news sources have circulated information regarding Samvel Babayan allegedly taking the position of the State Minister of Artsakh. In response to inquiries from the media and public circles, Samvel Babayan's press service issued a clarification stating that his position remains unchanged: the only viable option for preserving the sovereignty of Artsakh is a constitutional amendment to ensure a genuine balance of power and a clear distinction of constitutional institutions.
“From a strategic planning perspective, the amendment of the Artsakh Constitution has no alternative. Under the current constitutional arrangements, personnel policies are merely a transfer of factors, with no real change to the essential amount. The circulation of information regarding Samvel Babayan's appointment in the public administration system is a product of the fears of a political dwarf group due to potential internal political developments. For them, even the shadow of S. Babayan is equivalent to their political demise, which explains their informational entrenchment and the renewal of their informational arsenal,” the statement noted.
