Video: Driver Rammed into Crowded Bus Stop in Jerusalem; Suspect Shot by Police
A vehicle collided with a bus stop in Jerusalem, resulting in two fatalities: a 6-year-old child and a 20-year-old male. Additionally, six others have been injured in the incident.
Israeli authorities are treating this as a terrorist attack, and the driver was shot dead by police on the scene. This information has been reported by Jerusalem Post.
The incident took place at the corner of Golda Meir Boulevard and Binyamin Mintz Boulevard in the Ramot neighborhood (East Jerusalem).
According to eyewitnesses, the driver, identified as 31-year-old Hussein Karaka, plowed his vehicle into the bus stop, where a crowd had gathered. It has been reported that the conditions of two of the six injured individuals are serious.
An emergency services spokesperson stated, “The attacker has been neutralized and killed on the spot. Once again, we are dealing with an act of terrorism.”
It is worth noting that on January 27, an unknown assailant opened fire, killing seven individuals as they exited a synagogue in East Jerusalem, leaving three others injured. The shooter was also killed during an attempted escape.
Earlier, a 13-year-old opened fire in the Arab neighborhood of Silwan in Jerusalem, injuring two individuals before being neutralized by police.
