Blinken to Meet Xi Jinping During China Visit
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Beijing next week. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with the plans.
During the visit to China on February 5-6, Blinken will discuss the war in Ukraine with Chinese officials, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby announced on Tuesday.
U.S.-China relations have been tense over issues such as security, Taiwan, trade, the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, and dominance in the Asia-Pacific region. The United States has warned the Chinese government of consequences if China provides weapons to Russia for use against Ukraine.
