Video: Mirzoyan and Stoltenberg Meet - Discussion Details Revealed
On January 23, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a working visit in Brussels. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged thoughts on regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
Minister Mirzoyan presented to the NATO Secretary General the humanitarian crisis created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, as well as the consequences of the Azerbaijani authorities' ongoing policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh. In this context, the importance of clear actions by the international community was emphasized to end the inhumane blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh and to bring Azerbaijan back to the negotiation table.
Ararat Mirzoyan also presented developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey to Jens Stoltenberg. During the meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the level of political dialogue between Armenia and NATO and discussed current cooperation programs and future prospects.
