VIDEO: Nepal Pilot Averts Casualties by Steering Plane into Gorge
The pilot of a plane that crashed in Nepal steered the aircraft towards a gorge, away from residential areas, in an effort to minimize casualties. This was reported by Online Khabar.
According to local media footage, the Yeti Airlines plane fell just a few dozen meters away from a residential neighborhood. Meanwhile, local authorities in the area where the incident occurred have reported several survivors of the aviation accident.
There were 72 people on board, including four Russians, who unfortunately lost their lives.
It is worth noting that the ATR 72 passenger aircraft crashed on Sunday between the old and new airports of Pokhara. The plane, belonging to the local Yeti Airlines, was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
