Turkey Will Treat Injured Individuals from Ukraine, Says Erdogan

Ankara supports the establishment of a humanitarian corridor for the injured due to the situation in Ukraine and is ready to take responsibility for their treatment. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan while addressing participants of an international conference dedicated to human rights in Ankara.

“We support this. We brought injured persons from Syria, Azerbaijan, and Libya, treated them in our hospitals, and sent them back. This is our humanitarian obligation. We will continue to work in this direction,” Erdogan said.

Earlier, Turkey’s human rights defender Sherif Malkoch had stated that Ankara expects to open a humanitarian corridor between the Russian Federation and Ukraine to assist children, women, and the injured affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
