Biden Has Promised Personal Support to Erdogan on This Issue: Kalin
The official representative of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, has announced that Turkey expects a positive resolution regarding the acquisition of F-16 fighter jets from the USA; otherwise, it may turn to alternative options to meet its military aircraft needs.
“We hope that the U.S. Congress will begin the approval process for the deal in January. This is in the interest of not only Turkey but also the U.S. and NATO. Otherwise, we have options and determination to take necessary steps to meet our needs within the framework of national security,” Kalin stated.
According to him, U.S. President Joe Biden has promised personal support to Turkish President Erdogan on this issue.
“As a result, we expect Congress to act rationally rather than being guided by immediate political interests,” Kalin added.
