US Plans to Work with Israel to Counter 'Iranian Threats'
The United States administration is preparing to work with Israel's new government to address the alleged threats posed by Iran. This was announced by U.S. President Joe Biden in a statement released by the White House press office on Thursday.
"I look forward to working with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been my friend for decades, in responding together to various challenges facing Israel and the Middle East, including the threat from Iran," Biden stated.
According to him, Washington aims to ensure "integration, prosperity, and security" in the Middle East. The U.S. president assured that his administration is promoting peace "between Israelis and Palestinians."
"We intend to continue this important work with Israel's new government under Prime Minister Netanyahu," Biden said.
"And the United States will continue to support a two-state solution, as we have done during my administration..."
The Knesset (Israeli parliament) on Thursday expressed its confidence in the government formed by Netanyahu, the leader of the Likud party, after the elections on November 1. The political figure has already sworn in as the new prime minister.
