Russia has no connection to Ruben Vardanyan's decision to go to Artsakh, Lavrov
The Russian authorities have no ties to Ruben Vardanyan's decision to travel to Artsakh, as stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, reported Kp.ru.
“Mr. Vardanyan has no connection with Russia, and the Russian authorities have no ties with him. We have had no dealings regarding his decision to go to Artsakh and participate in political life,” the diplomat said during a press conference.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had demanded Vardanyan leave Artsakh.
At the beginning of November, the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, appointed Ruben Vardanyan as the state minister. Previously, the billionaire had announced his intention to renounce his Russian citizenship in connection with his travel to Artsakh.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the businessman’s request to renounce his Russian citizenship.
