Lavrov: 'We learned about the Armenian side's rejection from the press release, this raises questions.'
There are questions directed at Armenia regarding how the country's authorities notified about their refusal to participate in the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan held in Moscow on December 23.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to him, Yerevan did not utilize diplomatic channels.
“Like you, we learned about this rejection from the press release. No diplomatic channels, which are usually involved in such cases, were utilized. This is a decision of the Armenian side,” Lavrov said.
He added that the method by which Yerevan decided to inform the participants about the cancellation of the meeting “raises questions.”
