Trial of Kocharian Against Pashinyan Comes to an End
The Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction (Kanaker seat), presided over by Judge Sergey Sahakyan, continued today to hear the civil case filed by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, against Nikol Pashinyan and the Republic of Armenia.
The court concluded the examination of evidence presented by Kocharian's representative, Haik Alumyann.
The court is set to deliver its verdict on January 10, 2023.
Kocharian's lawyers are demanding the court to order the Republic of Armenia to pay 2,000,000 AMD in favor of the plaintiff, Robert Kocharian, and to obligate Nikol Pashinyan to publicly refute statements made about the plaintiff during a rally at Republic Square on March 1, 2021. This refutation is to be disseminated through the official YouTube channel of the Armenian government, on the official website of the Prime Minister of Armenia, on Pashinyan's Facebook page, on the YouTube channels of the public television's news, 1in TV, Azatutyun TV, as well as through the electronic media outlets armeniasputnik.am, armtimes.com, and news.am.
