Canada Calls on Azerbaijan to Open the Lachin Corridor
Canada is closely monitoring the closure of the Lachin Corridor and the subsequent developments. This was mentioned in a tweet from the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We urge the authorities in Azerbaijan to reopen the corridor and ensure free movement to avoid a potential humanitarian disaster,” the statement reads.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijani environmentalists have been blocking the only road that connects Artsakh with Armenia. In addition to this, Azerbaijan has also halted gas supply to Artsakh, causing gas-heated facilities in the region to cease operations.
