We Have Suggested Increasing the Number of Russian Peacekeepers: David Babayan
It is a fact that the total blockade of Artsakh has begun, and whether it will turn into a large-scale operation depends on the reaction of the international community, said David Babayan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, at a press conference held in Yerevan.
“If there is no response and indifference, of course, this can lead to further developments. Impunity encourages aggression,” said the Foreign Minister.
He noted that they have suggested increasing the number of peacekeepers: “The 1,980 personnel stationed along the entire contact line is a small number. Only 1-2 peacekeeping soldiers were standing against this Azerbaijani incursion. Additionally, we have proposed that Russian peacekeepers receive an international mandate, which would allow preventing such provocations,” David Babayan stated.
