Will the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue Be Resolved by a Treaty or Through a Separate International Mechanism? Grigoryan Details
In a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan discussed the ongoing negotiations regarding the peace treaty and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. He stated, “There is still no final decision on whether the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will be resolved by a peace treaty or if a separate international mechanism will be established. Following the meeting in Washington, there was an agreement between me and the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan to create an international mechanism to discuss the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. So far, there is no clarity on this mechanism. Yerevan is in favor of creating security guarantees for discussions to occur regarding the rights and security between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan,” Grigoryan added.
