Lavrov Announces Upcoming Meeting in '3+3' Format
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that a new meeting in the '3+3' format dedicated to the South Caucasus is being prepared, with timelines and agendas currently being coordinated. This statement was made during a press conference following negotiations with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
“We also discussed the functioning of the advisory regional platform, referring to the three South Caucasian republics and their three neighbors - Russia, Iran, and Turkey. This was initially an initiative by the President of Azerbaijan, and the first meeting took place. Now we are preparing for the next such event and coordinating the specific timelines and agenda,” he said.
The first meeting of the '3+3' cooperation platform, focused on ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus, was held at the level of deputy foreign ministers on December 10, 2021, in Moscow.
