Azerbaijan Sends Note to Iran Over Visitors to Artsakh
Azerbaijan has sent a note to the Iranian embassy, as citizens of that country visited Nagorno-Karabakh without notifying Baku. This information was reported to RIA Novosti by the press service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that a group of Iranian citizens visited Nagorno-Karabakh on December 1. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has deemed the visit illegal, stating that it violates the country's legislation.
“A relevant note has been sent to the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan to clarify the information,” the statement said. The Azerbaijani side is awaiting a response from Iran.
