VIDEO. Why the Civil Contract Party Did Not Participate in the Vote: Konyanyan Explains
The Armenian Parliament did not accept the statement in response to the Azerbaijani Parliament's announcement of November 8, 2022. The statement was rejected with 31 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions.
MP Hayk Konyanyan from the Civil Contract Party remarked that it was presumed the statement should have been made by the National Assembly, rather than by the Armenia Alliance.
“If the real goal is to have a joint statement, then I believe it would be a good idea to initially draft the statement together, form a working group, and start from scratch to work on the text of the statement that should belong to all of us. The opposition rejected some provisions we proposed,” Konyanyan stated.
In conclusion, he mentioned that the Civil Contract Party will not participate in the vote on this statement.
