Moscow Has Not Requested Negotiations, But Will Listen to Kyiv – Lavrov
Moscow has not requested to conduct negotiations with Ukraine, but is ready to listen to the other side. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference dedicated to European security issues.
“And when we are accused of constantly asking for some negotiations to buy time in order to gather additional forces for conducting a military special operation, it is both ridiculous and unpleasant, because people are lying, they are lying sincerely. We have never asked for any negotiations, but we have always said that if someone is interested in a negotiated solution, we are ready to listen,” clarified the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
It should be noted that Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kyiv has legally prohibited them. Vladimir Zelensky has announced that he has received signals from Western partners indicating that Russia wants to conduct direct negotiations and has proposed a public format.
